Hi, I'm Tim.

I graduated from Portland State University in 2014 with a double-major in Advertising and Marketing, and a minor in Design.  My dream was to one day work as an Art Director at an ad agency here in Portland.

While at Portland State, I was lucky enough to be part of the Fir NW Advertising program (firnw.com). Don't be fooled by the fact that this is a school-sponsored program. Fir NW is the real deal; a real ad agency creating real work for real clients.

While at Fir NW, I was the sole graphic designer on each of my accounts, meaning I had complete control of art direction and shared creative strategy with one copywriter. This gave me a real taste of what it would be like to work at a small ad shop, and I had never felt more engaged and enthusiastic about work.

After graduating, I took the jobs that came my way that I thought might help me get closer to being an Art Director, including being a photo engineer at Sandbox Studios and a Print Designer for a private company. The last six years, however, I have been fixing pinball machines to pay the bills, but I certainly have not given up on my dream. I’ve been quietly taking freelance projects and building my portfolio all the while.
